About this role
Picogrid is looking for a Director of Government Solutions who is passionate about advancing the state of the art in defense. As a key member of Picogrid’s leadership team, you will work closely with our founders to define our core strategy for engaging with government clients, driving business growth, and ensuring the successful deployment of our technology in mission-critical scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to secure government contracts and funding opportunities by preparing proposals, presentations, and strategic plans.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive government solutions strategy that aligns with Picogrid’s business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, including defense agencies, federal contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Source, shape, qualify, capture and win top strategic opportunities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a growing team of professionals focused on government solutions and business development.
- Monitor and analyze government market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform business strategy.
- Represent Picogrid at industry conferences, trade shows, and other public forums to enhance our visibility and reputation in the government sector.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in military service, government solutions, or related role.
- Proven track record of securing and managing large-scale government contracts.
- Ability to work in an autonomously driven, fast-paced, and demanding startup atmosphere.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts and differentiators through concise and compelling written and verbal communication
- Active TS/SCI US security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one. An active security clearance may allow you to work on certain sensitive Picogrid missions.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with unmanned systems, C5ISR technologies, or related fields in military or intelligence communities
- Deep understanding of the DoD acquisition process and successful track record selling enterprise systems to US government customers
- Experience working with federal representatives including US Senators and Representatives
- Strong network within the government and defense sectors.
- Experience growing an early-stage Government technology company into a growth-stage company

- Base salary range: $140,000 - $200,000 per year plus performance incentive. Base salary is just one part of your total compensation package at Picogrid.
